The design of the Big Disk Extreme puts the drive on the base placed on its sideways. It is a good thing for us to have more space on our desk to put stuff. Another thing that we will get from the device is the so-called LaCie external hard drive shortcut button. Some people need external hard drive simply to put more data or use it as a storage room for their data backups. For those who work professionally with digital video editing, SD video, 2D/3D imaging or any other applications and tasks requiring temporal data storage on work, LaCie external hard drive may not become the most expected. On the other side, if you need it only for any kind of light-work like home video editing and non-feature films the device sure is enough.
